Really well done! I have a friend who collects, paints, toy soldiers, he thought this was great! :)

Great pose! This comes together very nicely. It looks like you had some historical inspiration, but is this part of an original story or a historical one?

Thanks!
It is part of a series of studies for a story...that story takes place in a historical setting (early 19th century), but the story itself is original.
The soldier is inspired by the Nassau soldiers from the Napoleonic era. Stories set in that era usually picture the British as the main opponent for the French and are almost like "good versus bad". I thought it would be nice to make it more complicated. The Duchy of Nassau fought on both sides (in Spain for the French, at Waterloo for the Allies). That makes them more complicated and makes them more interesting.

Did they wear green coats?

Yeah, they did. I read about the Nassau troops online and liked their story. Their uniforms were green with yellow and dark accents. If you search Google on "nassau infantry" you'll find pictures of them. That's where I got my information on the uniforms :-)

I love his pose and the motion you brought in to this. And the lighting on the hat and the metal parts on his clothing. The gun doesn't shine as pretty, but you shouldn't change much on it. I love it for what it is.

I think the colouring is a little "toy-ish" but overall I'm quote satisfied
